Our Mystery Handmade Methuselah is exactly what the name promises — a genuine surprise. We hand-select one piece from our current work: a wallet, a card holder, a key fob, a strap, or whatever has come off the bench most recently. Every item is built in our Melbourne studio, stitched and finished entirely by hand.
No two pieces are identical. Slight variations in grain, texture, and finish are not flaws — they are proof that a person, not a machine, made this.

What Might Arrive
Depending on what we're working with at the time of your order, the mystery piece could be made from any of the leathers we carry — including vegetable-tanned full-grain hides that develop a rich patina over years of use, and tougher bridle leathers built for daily carry. The leather chosen will be noted on the card inside.
Every piece ships in our standard packaging, clean and ready to give.
The Care Story — Why Handmade Matters
Mass-produced leather goods are glued, heat-stamped, and assembled in minutes. Ours are not. Each Methuselah piece is:
- Cut by hand from full hides, not pre-punched sheets
- Stitched with waxed linen thread using a two-needle saddle stitch — the same method used by harness makers for centuries
- Edge-finished by hand, burnished smooth
- Built without glue as the primary bond — stitching holds everything
A well-made leather piece improves with use. That's the gift: something that gets better the more it's carried.
